Our weekend Phlebotomy Certification Course is a two-day, in-person class where students will learn the basic fundamentals and skills needed to become a nationally certified phlebotomist.

Course topics include:

Sample preparation and handling

Patient consent

The legal side of phlebotomy

Proper disposal

Medical terminology

How to confidently and efficiently perform venipunctures using a variety of methods

Safety and universal precautions

Hands-on practice using simulation arms

Supervised clinical experience with real patients

Students will complete 30 successful venipunctures, the required number of capillary sticks, and much more. This hands-on experience is designed to help students develop confidence and competence.

Students will sit for the phlebotomy licensure exam at the end of class on the second day. Students will also receive their certificate and badge immediately after passing the final exam.
