Meet Athena Brown:
Owner of Steady Hand Phlebotomy
Athena is the sole owner and operator of Steady Hand Phlebotomy Training Services LLC and Steady Hand Mobile Labs, based in Gainesville, FL . She has been a phlebotomist/ medical assistant for about 14 years, working in specialties such as hospitals, clinics, plasma centers and mobile phlebotomy . Over her career, she has held multiple leadership roles, including production supervisor, team lead, and designated trainer.

After reaching the top of her career, Athena decided to shift focus to teaching, aiming to help others succeed in the phlebotomy field. In 2021 she launched Steady Hand Phlebotomy Training Services LLC to offer accredited express training courses for aspiring medical professionals, and later expanded into mobile lab services to meet local needs. In 2025 the business was nominated and awarded THE GAINESVILLE BEST BUSINESS AWARD!

Athena’s approach to training emphasizes hands-on instruction, fun interactive learning, and confidence-building, ensuring students are prepared to pass licensure exams and enter the workforce ready to perform in real-world settings. She works alongside experienced instructors like Brianna and Kneisha to deliver comprehensive programs in phlebotomy, paramedical examiner, medical assistant, and other related certificationsÂ
In addition to her business, Athena is recognized for her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to mentorship, helping students build careers in healthcare while sharing her years of professional experience.Â

Our Steady Hand Instructor
Meet Kneisha, a dedicated instructor and key team member at Steady Hand Phlebotomy Training Services LLC, since April 2021..located in Gainesville, FL. She helps run the facility by stepping into roles ranging from instructor and back office manager to graphic designer.

Kneisha has a diverse and continuously advancing medical career. She has been in the medical field since 2011, becoming a LPN in 2018, then RN in 2021 and now PMHNPÂ Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2026 !!!

Because of her experience, she has extensive knowledge of the accurate way to perform health assessments, gathering data, and how to properly document: skills you will need to perform as a health professional . Her extensive background ensures students receive comprehensive and hands-on training for the medical field as well as the confidence to step straight into the healthcare workforce.
Meet Brianna!
Our Steady Hand Instuctor
Brianna is currently a skilled and passionate phlebotomist employed at the UF Shands Teaching hospital, so she is able to teach the modern techniques that is currently and actively being practiced in the hospital setting. She brings essential real-world clinical experience directly to her students. She has been a certified phlebotomist for well over 6 years. Brianna helps guide future healthcare professionals through hands-on clinical training for careers in phlebotomy, and personally volunteers herself for additional sticking practice allowing the students  To obtain their required clinical milestones as well as build more confidence. This is a great way to get the students career ready.
